German Desk

Alerion advises German and German-speaking companies on their business activities in France, and French subsidiaries of German companies and international groups, and also assists French companies seeking to enter the German market.

The German Desk is co-headed by Nicola Kömpf and Friedrich Niggemann. With over 20 years of experience advising companies on French-German cross-border issues, Nicola Kömpf is dual qualified as a French avocat and a German Rechtsanwältin, and is admitted to both the Paris and Berlin Bars. Friedrich Niggemann, admitted to the Düsseldorf and Paris Bars, and also trained in both legal systems, has extensive experience in French-German legal matters and regularly assists clients in their investments, commercial and industrial relations, as well as in litigation before French courts and arbitration tribunals. The team is supported by a dynamic group of lawyers who are dual-trained in French and German law.

In addition, the German Desk team can at any time rely on the other specialist teams within the firm, allowing clients to benefit from highly focused advice and assistance in all areas of business law and litigation. The team’s dual legal background means that they can quickly identify the differences between the French and German legal systems, and help clients effectively understand the key considerations in French law that impact their decision-making.

The German Desk team also regularly works with law firms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, most of which have French-speaking staff and the capabilities to support French speaking clients locally.
